A huge well done to everyone for World Book Day we loved seeing how involved you all were. A winner from each class was crowned today by Mr Harrison. Thank you to all for embracing the day!!

Happy Half Term

From everyone here we’d like to wish you a happy half term.

We’d also like to take this opportunity to wish Mrs Murphy all the best as she leaves us today to go onto a new job to teach English to adults. It has been lovely having Mrs Murphy part of our school community and she will be sorely missed by us all. From everyone that is part of the Priory community we wish you good luck and thank you for everything!!

We hope you all have an enjoyable week off.

Please remember we return to school on Tuesday 27th February, as Monday 26th is an INSET day.

The Priory Team

Ash Wednesday

Today, Team Chaplaincy and Miss Hickling led us in an Ash Wednesday liturgy supported by our lay chaplain, Rachel Rose.

We learnt about the importance of Lent for Christians and why ashes are used as a sign of the start of Lent.

Thank you Priory for such a lovely service.

Happy Lunar New Year

Happy Lunar New Year to all who celebrate from everyone at the Priory.

Children’s Mental Health Week

This week has been Children’s Mental Health week.
The MHST visited the Priory Catholic Voluntary Academy this week to deliver workshops to Y1/2 and then parents. Well done to everyone for engaging with this.

Learning by Questions

Y6 have been exploring and trialling Learning by Questions a new online learning platform. They have used this in their Maths and Literacy lessons with great enthusiasm.

Y5 Lego Day

Y5 enjoyed a STEM day last week – using lego to facilitate this. There was some fabulous work throughout the day. Well done everyone.

Welcome into 2024

We have loved welcoming back all our pupils into school today as we begin the Lent academic term and celebrate the start of 2024. We can’t wait to share with you all the learning that will be happening.

Merry Christmas

From everyone at the Priory we wish you all a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. We look forward to welcoming you all back to school on Monday 8th January 2024.

Last Day of Advent Term

We ended the Advent term with Mass at Church where we opened the last few doors of our Advent calendar. We then finished the afternoon off with our annual Sing for Santa show.
We’ve had a wonderful term and also want to mention the two amazing performances of the Nativity by EYFS and Y1/2. All the children who took part were a credit to our school and put on performances to remember and cherish by us all. Well done KS1 for all your hard work.
This last week we’ve also had Y1/2 and Y4 go singing to our local care homes and Y5 visit the food bank to give back to those within our community.
