PE and Sports Premium

What is PE and Sports Premium funding?

The funding is provided by the government who provide £320 million to primary schools, so schools can make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of PE, physical activity and sport offered.

Ensuring students have sufficient daily exercise has numerous benefits for their physical health and wellbeing, as well as having wider benefits such as improved behaviour and enhancing academic achievement.

How the school has to use the PE and Sports Premium funding

We have to use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of the PE, physical activity and sport we provide. This includes any carried forward funding.

This means that we must use the PE and sport premium to:

  • develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport that we provide
  • build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now are sustainable and will benefit students joining the school in future years
